Dr. Gerald Austin

26 year retired veteran referee of the national football league. He officiated three super bowls, three pro bowls and was assigned a playoff game each year in the league. The recepient of the prestigious Art Mcnally award. A member of the North Carolina sports hall of fame, NCHSAA hall of fame, Guilford county hall of fame, Erwin high school hall of fame, the WNChall of fame and the Western Carolina Universuty hall of fame. The coordinator of football officials for Conference USA 2001-2020 A rule’s consultant with ESPN Monday Nght Football 2012-2018 He is a retired public school administrator with more than thirty years experience in leadership. He was an associate superintendent and a high school principal with guilford county schools. He was a program coordinator at the center for creative leadership for four years. The author of a number of articles on leadership. Gerald is a graduate of western carolina university with both a B.S. and M.A. his doctorate is from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. A recepient of the Western Carolina University academic and professional achievement award A native of Asheville,N.C.. he has six children, eight grand children and fourteen great grand children. He and his wife Sylvia live in Summerfield, NC

Harold Mitchell

Harold graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing. Harold joined State Farm Insurance Companies on January 10th, 1968, as a claim adjustor in the Chicago, Illinois area. He was promoted to Claim Supervisor in 1979 and Claim Superintendent in 1981. He became a State Farm Agent in 1982 in Chicago. He was then selected to become an Agency Manager in 1984. In May 1988 Harold was appointed as an Agency Director in the Florida Region of State Farm. He was transferred to the Georgia Regional Office in 1991. He became an Agency Field Executive in 1995, and then a Zone Assistant in 2004. Harold retired from State Farm Insurance after 37 years in 2005. Harold has coached Little League Baseball for 20 years, served as a Board Member of the Neighborhood Housing Authority, and been an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Harold was also a volunteer for the Polk County Florida Special Olympics. Harold has been the Vice President of Membership for the 100 Black Men of Atlanta. Harold is the past President of the Atlanta Technical College Foundation Board, as well as the past President of the Technical College State of Georgia Foundation Board. Harold is also a Deacon at Friendship Baptist Church of Duluth, Georgia. Harold has officiated College Football for over 33 years, working in Big Ten, SEC, Mid-Continent [now the Gateway], CCIW [College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin], and the MEAC. Harold has worked the 1987 Rose Bowl, the 1985, 1993 &1996 Gator Bowls, 1992 Orange Bowl and the 1992 and 1999 SEC Championship Game. Harold was the Coordinator of Football Officials for the SWAC [Southwestern Athletic Conference] from2007-2020. Harold was also the Coordinator of football officials for the SIAC from 2011-2015. Harold has been a game day observer for the SEC. Currently Harold is an administrator/scout for the PAC-12. Harold has been the recipient of the Dave Parry Award for Outstanding Football Officiating Coordinator. Harold has been married to Victoria for 57 years, and has 2 sons, Harold, Jr, Morehouse 1991, [ Keya, Harold III, Chandler] and Kevin, Sr, Morehouse 1996, [Michelle, Kevin, Jr, Christopher]
